Sometime late tonight, I will be re-indexing the database. Keep your fingers crossed that I don't do something silly and lose the whole thing. Yes, I've taken three backups this afternoon, but knowing my luck, I'll kill it, anyway.
UPDATE (8:30): Only one little (and thankfully manageable) hiccup thus far. Some links will be a little off or broken for another hour or two, but everything should be resolved this evening. The coffee's brewing ;)
UPDATE (11:30): It's looking like the re-indexing is complete. If you notice a broken link, please do let me know. |

It turns out that my husband's grandfather is the 34 x great grandson of Charlemagne, and my grandmother is the 37 x great granddaughter of Charlemagne, which makes us 36th cousins 3 times removed.
Naturally, the evidence for relationships beyond 9-12 generations is limited, at best, and should be treated as family lore or hearsay, probably. Still, it is amusing to draw the lines and see.
I find that if you can get a Western European ancestor back to the late 1500s or early 1600s, you can then (usually) find a mythical connection back to one of the royal lines in Europe.
